MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The all-new Project X PXi shaft scored its first PGA TOUR win at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans this weekend. PXi is the evolution of the revolutionary tour-proven Project X shaft family, and a new industry benchmark for performance.

Playing PXi in his irons and hybrid, the champion in New Orleans captured his first PGA Tour victory after two playoff holes against one of the game’s most notable veterans. He shot a 19-under par 269, a final total that jumps the champ to No. 9 in the FedExCup standings.

“The new PXi is the culmination of years of research and development and it is the most sophisticated steel shaft design in the history of the game,” says Chad Hall, director of product marketing and global tour operations for True Temper Sports. “PXi maintains the same launch trajectory and same spin rates that has made Project X a favorite on the pro tours. Our engineers modified the design to soften the feel in the hands for the shorter irons and stiffen the longer shafts within a set. This is a high-powered combination that produces greater distance and improved feel beyond anything in the game today.”

Truth in Numbers:
• Zurich Classic champion’s bag: PXi 6.5 in his irons & hybrid; DG Spinner in his wedges
• 131 sets of shafts by True Temper Sports in play at the Zurich Classic
• 15 wins for shafts by True Temper on the 2012 PGA TOUR

The PXi shafts feature a unique variable taper design with a dedicated taper rate for each flex. Longer taper rate results in more energy transfer to the ball for a faster and flatter penetrating trajectory. The new PXi shaft is a great hybrid option and provides a smooth transition from Project X irons to hybrids. PXi shafts are available in 5.0, 5.5, 6.0 and 6.5 flexes and ranges in weight from 108 grams (5.0 flex) to 117 grams (6.5 flex). MSRP: $560 per set.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — True Temper’s high-performance Dynamic Gold and Project X shafts provided power, consistency and accuracy right down to the dramatic winning conclusion of the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

One week after coming in second at the Farmers Insurance Open, this week’s 24-year-old champion overcame an eight-stroke deficit and shot a bogey-free 65 on Sunday to finish at 15-under 269. He scored 79.2 on Greens in Regulation to earn his first PGA TOUR victory, playing Project X in his irons and Dynamic Gold in his wedges.

“Many of our shaft models — from Dynamic Gold to Project X steel and graphite — delivered clutch performances and more than 40 victories during the 2011 PGA TOUR season, and we’re very excited to see that success continuing in 2012,” says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. “Players are always looking for a competitive edge and, when you consider that True Temper shafts delivered 95 wins on the PGA, European and Nationwide Tours last year, there really is no better edge than playing the right shaft.”

The world’s largest shaft manufacturer demonstrated dominance beyond just the victory. Shafts designed and manufactured by True Temper claimed the Top Three money positions and controlled the field with 110 sets in play.

It’s been a great season for Project X shafts, with three consecutive major titles and more than 35 victories across the PGA, Nationwide and European Tours. Also, to date the new Project X graphite shaft is the winningest driver shaft on the 2010 PGA TOUR.

This year’s Masters champion earned his third Green Jacket and fourth major title, playing Project X shafts in his irons. The victory at Augusta National was the 10th consecutive win at The Masters for shafts designed and manufactured by True Temper.

At the U.S. Open, Project X shafts delivered winning consistency and accuracy on a Pebble Beach course which some described as “fast and fiery.” This year’s U.S. Open champion played Project X in his irons to become the first European in 40 years to win the event. Project X graphite had a dominate showing at the U.S Open with four shafts in the bags of the Top 10 finishers, and 29 shafts in play among the entire field.

The British Open’s Claret Jug winner played the new Project X graphite shaft in his driver and fairway woods to lead the field in driving accuracy with an astounding 86 percent of fairways hit and averaging more than 319 yards per drive. He fired off a seven-shot victory — only two strokes off from the largest victory margin in British Open history.

“The PGA TOUR’s major events showcase the best golfers in the world, and we are extremely excited for Project X shafts to have won three of the four majors this year,” says Chad Hall, director of global tour operations for True Temper Sports. “Our engineers remain dedicated to providing golfers of all skill levels with shafts that provide maximum performance in accuracy, consistency and distance.”

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — In a spectacular display of shot consistency and accuracy, Project X shafts chalked up the historic, eight-shot victory at the 2011 U.S. Open Championship at the Congressional Country Club.

Playing Project X in his irons, the 22-year-old U.S. Open champion shot a 16-under 268 to capture his first major win in grand fashion. In addition to setting new U.S. Open records for the lowest four-round total, and for the most strokes under par, the champion also hit 62 of the 72 greens in regulation and became the youngest U.S. Open winner since Bobby Jones in 1923.

“Everyone who witnessed the stunning and dominant performance at the U.S. Open this weekend saw history in the making, and we’re very proud Project X shafts delivered the extreme performance needed to make it happen,” says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. “The Project X shafts played by this year’s young champion were among the 135 sets of shafts by True Temper in play at the U.S. Open. True Temper shafts have helped set new records at Major tournaments for decades and our company is committed to continuing to drive golf shaft innovation and provide equipment solutions that produce wins.”

The Project X line of shafts are proven winners, including the Project X graphite shaft which quickly established itself as the premier graphite shaft in the game today. The straight taper and short tip section of the Project X iron shafts provides maximum energy transfer with low spin rates required for penetrating iron shots.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – With tour-winning consistency and accuracy, shafts designed and manufactured by True Temper Sports once again stepped into the spotlight this weekend on both the PGA and Nationwide Tours.

At the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, the 44-year-old champion donned the honored plaid jacket after trusting Project X shafts in his irons and hybrid clubs. He closed with a 67 in Sunday’s final round – shooting two birdies and an eagle – to win his 13th career win on the PGA TOUR.

While Project X shafts won the competition on the PGA Tour, True Temper’s Dynamic Gold shafts dominated the BMW Charity Pro-Am on the Nationwide Tour. The Nationwide winner played Dynamic Gold shafts in his irons to deliver an impressive 65-66-70-67 (268).

“When you look at the numbers —105 sets in play at the Crowne Plaza Invitational and a sweep of the top 10 on the Nationwide Tour — there is no doubt Dynamic Gold and Project X are preferred by the best players in the world of golf,” says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. “Dynamic Gold and Project X brands continue to be clear favorites among the professional players around the globe because they deliver accuracy and distance more consistently than any other shafts in the game today.”

The Number One selling shaft in golf, Dynamic Gold shafts are preferred by skilled players seeking a low, penetrating ball flight. Dynamic Gold features an internal tip reinforcement technology and tighter weight sorting tolerance for precision custom fitting. Dynamic Gold shafts are available in tapered and parallel irons and parallel woods. True Temper’s Project X line of shafts are also proven winners, including the newest addition – Project X graphite shaft – which has quickly established itself as the premier graphite shaft in the game today.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Project X shafts once again demonstrated its reputation as the premier player’s shaft by earning another dramatic victory at the Shell Houston Open on the PGA TOUR.

Playing Project X shafts in his irons, the champion carded an amazing 17 birdies in 31 holes and finished Sunday with a three-shot victory. The win at the Shell Houston Open moved him up to number three in the Official World Rankings and makes him a fan favorite heading into this week’s Masters Golf Tournament.

“Consistency in your irons is essential, and having a golf shaft that delivers the ultimate in performance with every shot is why professionals turn to Project X time and time again,” says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. “With all eyes on Augusta this week, we expect to see shafts by True Temper leading the field in this season’s first Major.”

The Project X brand also continued its winning streak on the other side of the globe with a victory at the Morocco Open on the European Tour. The champion played Project X graphite in his driver and 3-wood.
The straight taper and short tip section of the Project X shafts iron shafts provides maximum energy transfer with low spin rates required for penetrating iron shots. By combing this design platform with eight premium graphite materials, the Project X wood and hybrid shafts are quickly becoming known as the lowest spinning graphite shafts available. While Project X iron golf shafts remain a favorite among top tour players, Project X wood shafts also are gaining popularity with the biggest names in golf trusting Project X in their drivers.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — This weekend, shafts designed and manufactured by True Temper Sports claimed victories at the PGA TOUR’s World Golf Championship – Bridgestone Invitational and Turning Stone Resort Championship and the Nationwide’s Wichita Open.

The Bridgestone champion shot a 64 on Sunday with Dynamic Gold shafts in his irons to win the tournament and secure a spot on the U.S. Ryder Cup team. Also playing Dynamic Gold in his irons, the Turning Stone Resort champion shot a 6-under 66 to deliver a dramatic, come-from-behind victory and his first PGA TOUR win.

Meanwhile on the Nationwide Tour, the young Wichita Open champion fired a 20-under par with Project X in his irons and the new Project X graphite shaft in his 5-wood to get his first victory.

“With Dynamic Gold and Project X, True Temper has won an amazing 33 events this season on the PGA TOUR,” says Chad Hall, director of global tour operations for True Temper Sports. “Each week, these shafts are in the bags of not only the tournament champions and the majority of the top 10 finishers, but also the players throughout the entire field. Just this week, we had 70 sets in play at the Bridgestone Invitational, 111 sets at the Turning Stone Championship and 145 sets at the Wichita Open. These counts are a clear demonstration of True Temper’s leadership position on the global tours.”

Dynamic Gold is the top-selling shaft in golf and is preferred by skilled players seeking a low, penetrating ball flight. It is available in tapered and parallel irons and parallel woods. The straight taper and short tip section of the Project X iron shafts — available in tapered and parallel tip — provides maximum energy transfer with low spin rates required for penetrating iron shots. By combing this design platform with eight premium graphite materials, the Project X wood and hybrid shafts are quickly becoming known as the lowest spinning graphite shafts available.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Designed on tour to produce maximum distance and accuracy, Project X shafts garnered wins at The Greenbrier Classic on the PGA Tour and the Irish Open on the European Tour. The double victory showcased the Tour-proven technology of Project X steel shafts and the all-new, spin-reducing Project X wood shafts.

This weekend’s winner of The Greenbrier Classic played Project X shafts in his irons and became only the fifth PGA TOUR player to reach the low-round record of 59. He carded nine birdies and an eagle in his final round to earn the 31st win of the year on the PGA Tour for shafts designed and manufactured by True Temper Sports.

Playing the new Project X graphite shafts in his driver and 3-wood and Dynamic Gold shafts in his irons, the Irish Open champion averaged drives of 308 yards en route to a tournament record-tying score of 266.

“Project X is one of the most successful shaft brands in the history of the game, and this year’s debut success for the Project X graphite line has been a phenomenal testament to the superior performance characteristics of these shafts,” says Craig Nichols, PGA Tour Representative for True Temper Sports. “Already the winningest graphite wood shaft in 2010 on the PGA Tour, our win at the Irish Open marks the ninth win of the season and highlights the momentum that is spreading around the globe for Project X graphite.”

True Temper continues to dominate the professional tours. At The Greenbrier Classic, True Temper led the shaft count with 133 iron sets in play, while competing shaft manufacturers fielded only 12 sets.

The new Project X graphite shaft features a unique tapered design that maximizes a player’s distance through the precise integration of frequency, weight distribution and launch profiles. The new shaft combines a stable butt section with a constant taper bend profile and reinforces the tip with two additional wraps of super high modulus graphite in the lower third of the golf shaft. The result is a reduction of spin by up to 700 RPM more than other low-spin Tour model competitors. Project X graphite shafts are available in woods and hybrids.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — With one of the greatest driving performances in the history of Major Championship golf, Project X Graphite shafts delivered the resounding victory at the 2010 British Open Championship. The win locked up the third consecutive major title of the year for Project X shafts, which are now the preferred choice for the best golfers throughout the world.

This year’s Claret Jug winner played the new Project X graphite shaft in his driver and fairway woods to lead the field in driving accuracy with an astounding 86 percent of fairways hit and averaging more than 319 yards per drive. He shot a closing 71 on Sunday that gave him a seven-shot victory — only two strokes off from the largest victory margin in British Open history.

“To win your first major at St. Andrews is really outstanding, and we are excited that Project X graphite shafts could be a part of such a remarkable victory,” says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. “The win at the British Open firmly cemented our new Project X shaft as the winningest graphite shaft of the 2010 PGA Tour, and proved it can deliver the unparalleled distance and accuracy needed to win a major.”

Project X shafts have a long history of winning on the professional tours and particularly at major events. Previously this year, Project X iron shafts delivered victories at the Masters Tournament and the U.S. Open.

The new Project X graphite shaft, designed and manufactured by True Temper, features a unique tapered design that maximizes a player’s distance, and a reinforced tip that reduces spin by up to 500 RPM more than other low-spin Tour model shafts. Project X graphite shafts are available in woods and hybrids.
